Commissioned in 2018, VIVA MOMENTS is the original VIVA Cruises ship — the vessel that introduced the line's all-inclusive model to European river cruising. Everything that defines VIVA today started here: the cabin specification, the RIVERSIDE restaurant concept, the free bicycle hire, the all-inclusive beverages. Six years on it remains a working part of the fleet, sailing the Rhine and Moselle.
At 135 metres by 11 metres with 176 passengers across 88 cabins, it matches VIVA ONE exactly in dimensions and capacity. The key differences from the newer ships are in the detail: VIVA MOMENTS does not mention a wellness area or sauna, has a cozy lounge rather than a panorama lounge, and its sun deck carries a putting green alongside the pool — a feature not found on the newer builds.
The Cabins
VIVA MOMENTS has three cabin categories across three decks.
Four balcony suites on the Diamond Deck are 24 m² with walk-out balconies — a private outdoor terrace rather than a French balcony that opens inward. Four suites on a 176-passenger ship is a small number relative to the fleet's newer vessels.
Junior Suites on the Diamond and Ruby Decks are 19 m² with French balconies.
Standard 2-bed cabins on the Diamond and Ruby Decks are 16 m² with French balconies. Emerald Deck cabins are 16 m² with fixed windows that do not open.
All cabins include flat-screen TV, minibar, Nespresso machine, RITUALS beauty products, hairdryer, safe, air conditioning, shower and toilet.
Restaurants
RIVERSIDE is the main restaurant with flexible dining hours and free seating. VIVA's Bistro offers classic dishes as an alternative for dinner. All beverages are included at all times across the ship.
Facilities
The sun deck has a pool and a putting green. A cozy lounge is on board. Free bicycle hire is available at every port. An elevator connects the Emerald, Ruby and Diamond Decks.
The Honest Position
VIVA MOMENTS is the oldest ship in the fleet. It introduced the VIVA concept and still delivers the core of it. For passengers who want a newer vessel with more dining options or a wellness area, VIVA TWO or VIVA ENJOY are the natural choice. For passengers who want the Rhine or Moselle on a well-run all-inclusive ship and are not paying for features they won't use, VIVA MOMENTS remains a sound option.
