Commissioned in 2022, VIVA ONE was the first purpose-built newbuilding from VIVA Cruises — the ship that established the design and specification standard the line has followed with every new vessel since. At 135 metres by 11 metres with 176 passengers across 88 cabins, it is slightly smaller than the 190-passenger flagships VIVA TWO and VIVA ENJOY but shares the same three-deck layout and the same wellness area with steam bath and infrared sauna.
The ship also carries 68 solar cells distributed across both sides of the sun deck — a detail the page notes specifically, and one that distinguishes VIVA ONE from the rest of the fleet.
The Cabins
VIVA ONE has four cabin categories across its three decks.
Four suites on the Diamond Deck are 24 m² with a private balcony of approximately 2 m² — a walk-out terrace rather than a French balcony. The distinction matters: a French balcony opens inward to bring in air; a private terrace is an actual outdoor space you step onto. Four suites across a 176-passenger ship is a limited number, and they are typically the first cabins to sell.
Junior Suites on the Diamond and Ruby Decks are 19 m² with French balconies — larger than the standard 16 m² cabins, with room for a sitting area alongside the bed.
Standard 2-bed cabins on the Diamond and Ruby Decks are 16 m² with French balconies. On the Emerald Deck the same 16 m² cabins have windows that do not open.
All cabins include flat-screen TV, minibar, Nespresso machine, RITUALS beauty products, hairdryer, safe, air conditioning, shower and toilet.
Restaurants
VIVA ONE has two restaurants. RIVERSIDE is the main restaurant with flexible dining hours and free seating. VIVA's Bistro offers classic dishes as an alternative for dinner. All beverages are included at all times.
VIVA ONE has two restaurants rather than the three found on VIVA TWO and VIVA ENJOY. For passengers who prioritise the wellness area and the private-terrace suites over dining variety, this is the right trade-off.
Facilities
The wellness area has a steam bath and infrared sauna. The fitness centre has a treadmill, bike and dumbbells. The sun deck carries a pool. Free bicycle hire is available at every port. An elevator connects the Emerald, Ruby and Diamond Decks.
Where It Sails
VIVA ONE operates Rhine sailings — the Amsterdam to Basel route is the principal itinerary — and other European rivers depending on season.
