Zanzibar is an island that belongs to Tanzania and is located approximately 15 miles from the mainland.
Zanzibar boasts some of the best beaches in the world, with white sands and clear turquoise waters. As well as a collection of stunning beaches, Zanzibar is also home to Stone Town – which has a unique blend of Arab, Persian, Indian and European culture and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The island is considered very safe for tourists. As tourism is the primary source of income in Zanzibar, the local authorities take safety very seriously.
It doesn’t have to be. Here at Cities and Beaches, we are currently offering an all inclusive Zanzibar holiday with flights, transfers and 4-star accommodation from only £999 pp.
As Zanzibar is part of Tanzania, please visit the FCO website for Tanzania entry requirements.
The Tanzanian shilling is the currency used in Zanzibar.
