The setting for Riga really has to be seen to be believed. Here, the architecture is so beautiful it dazzles and the river is the deepest shade of blue. Sitting on the glorious south coast of the Gulf of Riga, at the mouth of the Daugava, the blissful river views are accompanied by a jigsaw puzzle of Hansel and Gretel houses, with its strip of Mr Kipling iced roofs and yellow frescos.

Travelling by luxury coach to Tallinn, Estonia’s mesmerizing beauty lies in the leafy green plains, where the sun lights up the pastel-painted villages, mansions adorn the horizon, vast natural areas present a David Attenborough-worthy roll call of waterfalls and national parks with the UNSECO Old Town of Tallinn rising up in all its historical and cultural glory. Our favorite city hot spot is the 1404 Gothic town hall. The lovely Freedom Square lies at its heart, featuring St. John’s Church, an underground shopping centre and a Victory Column honouring the Estonian War of Independence.

The Rixwell Gertrude Hotel is a family-friendly, boutique hotel located in a 19th century Art Nouveau style building. This 4-star hotel is a 15-minute walk from the St. Gertrude Church, the Vermane Central Park, the Latvian National Opera, and the Old Town.

The spacious rooms of the Rixwell Gertrude Hotel feature a classic interior décor, with dark wooden elements. Each has a work desk and private bathroom with a bath or shower, free toiletries and a hairdryer. All rooms are soundproofed and feature satellite TV, safety deposit box, tea and coffee making facilities and ironing facilities, as well as a direct dial telephone.

A breakfast buffet is available in the mornings, included in the room rate. Lobby bar offers a choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, as well as snacks.

Hotel has Certificate for Excellence from Trip Advisor. All this make Rixwell Gertrude Hotel attractive for Riga guests and travelling families with children.

The modern Hotel L’Ermitage is located in the Old Town Tallinn, just a 5-minute walk from the Town Hall. It offers rooms with internet and a mini bar.

All 122 rooms at the L’Ermitage are bright and decorated with pastel colors. Each comes with an LCD TV with satellite channels and a modern bathroom with a hairdryer.

A breakfast buffet is served at the classically furnished hotel restaurant, which specializes in Estonian and international dishes. At the lobby bar, guests can relax in front of the fireplace and enjoy a wide range of drinks. Front desk staff is also available 24 hours a day and can assist with bicycle and car rental service. Guests can relax in the Finnish sauna.

Hotel L’Ermitage is situated 300 meters from the historic Toompea Castle. The popular Viru Square is just a 6-minute drive away.

May I say that everything about it was excellent! We had a great trip! We appreciated the fact that all the tickets and vouchers arrived in good time, therefore no stress! The hotels were good and the Lux Express coach was super! The road journey between the capitals was wonderful with the trees in their best autumnal colours! Well done and thank you! Ps. Travellers please be warned about pickpockets as you get off the coach in Riga where you have to go into the underpass to cross the road!
