Overview

Lonely Planet describes Bangkok as “a city where the familiar and the exotic collide like the flavors on a plate of pat tai” and this couldn’t be more true. Although a small trading post once upon a time, Bangkok is now a destination of total diversity which continues to prosper.

Observe how the Grand Palace and glorious temples intertwine with Bangkok’s busy streets and head off weaving through traffic in as tuk tuk before venturing to Wat Pho, home of the reclining Buddha. Then, cross the Chao Phraya River and stand in awe at some of the world’s most beautiful temples which make up the scenery of the “Venice of the East.” These temples were built around 1782 by the King Rama I and will do their best to leave you absolutely spellbound.

Next, hop to Hua Hin, Thailand’s oldest resort and ultimate beach-hopping destination with golden sands and swaying palms. History and creativity are abundant in this fascinating town and ornate temples are ten a penny, making for attractive and unparalleled scenery. Then, lounge about on a sunbed, mojito in hand, gazing at the blue ocean ripples beneath a backdrop of forested peaks.
