Yes, it’s generally considered safe for tourists in South Africa. However, it's wise to avoid entering townships or neighbourhoods with bad reputations, unless accompanied by a guide who knows the area well.
The easiest way to get around is with an organised trip. A package tour of South Africa usually includes the country’s best destinations and plenty of excursions via hassle-free transfers.
There are many to choose from. Some of the best parks for spotting wildlife are the Kruger National Park, Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, Addo Elephant National Park, Mapungubwe National Park and Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve.
South Africa has a huge collection of stunning beaches. Some of the most scenic include Camps Bay and Clifton in Cape Town, Boulders Beach near Cape Town (home to penguins), Mossel Bay, JeffreysBay, Port St. Johns, Plettenberg Bay and Thonga Beach which is located in Isimangaliso World Heritage Park.
It depends on which part of South Africa you fly into. A direct flight to Cape Town from the UK takes around 11 and a half hours. Johannesburg is slightly less at 11 hours.
