Whether you’re on your honeymoon or just want a romantic holiday where you can rekindle your love, there are plenty of places around the world that are bound to set the scene. We’ve put together a selection of destinations that are ideal for Valentine’s Day, a surprise getaway, or simply for spending some time away with your special someone

1 & 2. Verona and Venice

We couldn’t choose between these two iconic cities, so we chose both! Famous as the setting for Shakespeare’s most famous play (Romeo and Juliet), Verona is full of pretty piazzas, labyrinthine lanes, and a 13th century house boasting the ‘famous balcony’ that is said to have belonged to Juliet. Just an hour and a half’s drive from Verona lies the iconic city of Venice where you can enjoy soothing gondola rides with your loved one, get lost in the cobbled alleyways or watch a romantic opera. So, if you want a really romantic getaway then a Venice and Verona twin break may just tick all the boxes.
