About this cruise
Danube
The Danube cruise begins in Budapest, the “Pearl of the Danube.” The Hungarian capital enchants with the Parliament’s grandeur, the Fisherman’s Bastion, and the Chain Bridge, while the hills of Buda contrast with lively Pest.
The next stop is Bratislava, nestled between the Little Carpathians and the river. Its castle overlooks a charming old town filled with baroque palaces and cozy cafés.
A scenic highlight follows in the Wachau Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of vineyards and orchards. Here lies Melk, famous for its Benedictine abbey, a masterpiece of baroque architecture towering above the river.
In Passau, where the Danube meets the Inn and Ilz, guests experience a unique riverscape. The St. Stephen’s Cathedral, home to the world’s largest cathedral organ, and the colorful old town make the city special.
Further downstream lies Linz, blending baroque heritage with contemporary culture. Its main square, historic buildings, and modern art institutions create a vibrant setting framed by green hills.
The journey ends in Vienna, Austria’s imperial capital. Palaces like Schönbrunn and the Hofburg, the majestic St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and the riverbanks combine imperial history with modern vibrancy – a perfect finale to this unforgettable Danube cruise.
