The Splendours Of South India
Composed of the five states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Telangana, South India is a glistening paradise of World Heritage Sites, ancient history and pearlescent coastlines – a real feast for the senses.
Our exclusive two-week stay will see you venture to a range of the region’s must-sees – from picture-perfect Pondicherry to mesmerizing Mysore, soaking up natural wonders and cultural gems during jam-packed sightseeing tours and thrilling excursions (including a bullock cart ride, cooking demonstration and jeep safari).
Spend the first half of your getaway in Bangalore, Mysore, Kabini and Coonoor – each one wildly different and unique.
Mysore is an eclectic hub and home to the opulent Mysore Palace and centuries-old, spice-scented Devaraja Market. Visit the Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery, Chamundeshwari Temple and feast your eyes upon the beauty of Brindavan Gardens.
Then, spend a night at a critter-filled jungle resort in Kabini. Go on a safari through this impressive sanctuary spanning a whopping 55 acres before proceeding to the emerald-hued hill station of Coonoor in the state of Tamil Nadu – known for its bright green undulating landscapes and tea plantations (which you’ll have ample time to explore).
For the second part of your trip, you’ll be whisked off to Madurai, Kumbakonam and Pondicherry. Your time in Madurai (an ancient city on the Vaigai River) will be spent visiting the Gandhi Museum and marveling at the techni coloured, awe-inspiring Meenakshi Amman Temple – a real treat to behold.
And then in Kumbakonam, enjoy a rip-roaring bullock ride before making your way to Pondicherry (or Puducherry), a striking French colonial settlement. Meander along the seaside promenade, fringed by the Bay of Bengal, and pass by the Gandhi Memorial statue standing proud at four metres high.
Lastly, you’ll spend three nights at a beach resort in Mamallapuram – a beautiful slice of paradise sitting between the Bay of Bengal and the Great Salt Lake.
Known for its temples and monuments dating back to the Pallava dynasty, Mamallapuram is a great place for sightseeing – but also equally great for relaxing and unwinding. Resting your head at a luxurious 4* beach resort, you’re free to laze about by the pool or frolic about in the ocean for hours upon hours.
